Popularity Is Not Truth
The number of people supporting an idea is not evidence that the idea is correct.
Most internet platforms reward attention and engagement. As a result, people often confuse popularity with validity. History provides many examples of widely accepted beliefs that were later proven wrong. Popularity can be a useful signal for relevance or awareness, but it should not be treated as evidence. This claim assumes that truth and consensus are distinct concepts.
