Knowledge systems should allow ideas to be forked, challenged, cited, and evolved in public.

Most knowledge platforms treat ideas as static artifacts. Articles are published. Comments are added. Discussion fades. The original idea rarely evolves. Software development solved a similar problem through version control and forking. Ideas deserve similar mechanisms.
